ToggleStarting an online dropshipping business can be a daunting task. There are so many things to learn and so many products to choose from. How do you know which products to sell? How do you promote these products? How do you set up your store?
It can feel like there’s too much information out there, and it’s hard to know where to start. You don’t want to waste your time or money on a business that won’t succeed, so a spy tool that can help ease you into the business can be helpful.
Dropispy is a great solution. This app can make your dropshipping life so much easier. In this Dropispy review, we’ll talk about its best features, as well as some of the pros ad cons of this ad spy tool.
What is Dropispy?
For the uninitiated, dropshipping is a business format in which eCommerce entrepreneurs set up an online store without stocking up or managing inventory.
When an order is processed on the website, the owner simply gets in touch with the supplier, who will then take care of the package and shipping of the order to the customer.
Dropshipping is a terrific way to initiate a business with little upfront investment.
On the flip side, it can be difficult to find high-quality products and promote them.
Dropispy is a competitive intelligence tool that will help you spy on your competition, see what products they are advertising, and how they are marketing them on Facebook.
With Dropispy, you can see what your competitors are doing and learn from their strategies.
Or, if you’re in a hurry, you can simply copy the exact ad and run them on your ads account if you have an identical product.
How to Use Dropispy
Dropispy‘s main purpose is to help you find the best performing ads based on specific advanced filters. It provides you with actionable marketing data and helps you find winning products. Let’s talk about how you can start using this tool.
Ad Search
The ad search is the most prominent feature of Dropispy, which is focused on spying on Facebook Ads.
For anyone looking to get into the world of dropshipping, the ability to search for lucrative Facebook advertisements can be a real game-changer. After all, it can be tough to know where to start with so many products out there.
But with the right search tools, you can quickly find the successful ads that are most relevant to your business. And that means you can get started selling sooner and start making money faster.
Of course, not all searches are created equal. So when you’re looking for dropship ads, be sure to use a reliable and reputable search engine. That way, you can be sure you’re getting accurate results and the latest information.
With Dropispy, you can do this with little effort. You’ll then be well on your way to finding the perfect dropship products for your business.
By default, the dashboard shows you all available ads they scraped. These ads are in the tens of millions, so you must set up some filters to find the one you need.
There are four categories in this spy tool by which you can filter ads: Creative, Target Audience, Redirect Link and Reactions.
When these advanced filters are used properly, you can find successful ads and winning products easily. Let’s discuss each.
Creative
If you already know the product or topic of the ads you are looking for, you should filter results based on the Creative. There are seven ways to filter successful ads in this category:
- Text search – You can think of this as the keyword search.
- Post creation date – This is a good filter if you know when the product was launched or if you want to limit the results based on a specific date.
- Media Type – This is the type of ad used by the advertiser. You can choose between Image, Video, Album, Carousel, and Multi.
- Page Name – If you know your competitor’s Facebook page and want to narrow the results down to ads released by a specific page, use this filter.
- Seen Date – You can add the dates that you believe the ad appeared. Choose this if you don’t know when the ad first or last appeared.
- First Seen Date – This refers to when the ad was first activated.
- Last Seen Date – This refers to when the ad was last active.
Target Audience
You can also filter ads based on the target audience. There are four filters in this category:
- Countries
- Language – You can target ads in any of the 53 languages on the list. Keep in mind that the language this refers to is the language as set by the user, not the ad’s language.
- Sex – You can target ads to either male or female users.
- Age – This is the age range filter. It starts at 18 and ends at 80. You can move the slider to filter the age group.
Redirect Link
The Redirect Link is the URL where the ad takes you. You can filter your ads based on:
- Domain – Use this if you want to filter results based on the competitor’s website (and, of course, if you know the domain name).
- Ecom platform – This is the online store’s platform. It includes some of the most popular eCom platforms, including Shopify, Woocommerce, Magento, and Bigcommerce.
- CTA – This is the call to action used in the ad. It could be Shop Now, Learn More, Get Offer, and other CTAs available in Facebook Ads.
Reactions
The Reactions filter shows you how many people reacted to an ad: liked it, commented on it, shared it, and more. It includes all of the newest reactions made available today.
You can filter based on the number of:
- Likes
- Shares
- Comments
- Love
- Haha
- Anger
- Sorry
- Wow
These filters use a slider that ranges from 0 to one million.
Once results appear based on your filters, you can then sort them in a descending or ascending manner based on any of the following:
- post creation date
- first seen date
- last see date
- running time (this is how long the ad has been active)
- shares
- comments
- love
- haha
- scary
- anger
- wow
Ad Information
All the ads that show up in the results each display comprehensive information on the ad. These details help you learn more about how the ad performed, whether it’s still active, and even the advertiser’s information.
The ads displayed on the results page show the following:
- the ad’s media – whether this be a video, image, or carousel
- the ad’s title or header text
- the page name
- date range – these are the dates when the ad has been active
- engagement counts for every type of reaction and engagement
Below the ad are three more options:
- Folder – allows you to place the ad into a folder of your choice (we will discuss later how you can create your own folders to segregate ads).
- Facebook link – if the ad is still active, you will be able to view the live ad by clicking this button.
- Details – this opens up a new page that shows everything you need to know about the ad.
Ad Details
This page opens up when you click on the Details button. The first thing you’ll see are additional details of the ad, such as the complete ad text, the dates it has been active, and the type of ad used.
You can download the media used for the ad and even copy the exact ad text.
Scroll a bit down, and you’ll see the ad’s performance in graphical form as well as real time data. You’ll also be treated to additional information in pie charts, such as:
- which countries have been targeted and what share of traffic went to these locations
- the age range of the audiences that interacted with the ad
- and the share of the audience based on sex.
Finally, at the bottom, you’ll find where the link to the ad redirects to, the eCommerce platform used, who the advertiser is, and other ads from the same advertiser.
You’ll also see a preview of the final landing page.
Take note that not all ads have this information, especially older ones.
Shop Search
One of the best ways to get into the dropshipping business is to research how your competition is promoting their products. This is where Dropispy comes in, as it offers a great way to research dropshipping shops.
You can use the Shop Search feature to find popular dropshipping shops and see what products they’re promoting.
This is a great way to get ideas for your own shop and find products that are selling well.
You can also see what kind of ads these shops are using and get ideas for your own ad campaigns.
When you arrive at the shop spy tool dashboard, you will see a list of eCommerce dropshipping shops within the database of this product search tool. At the moment, there are over a million domains and subdomains in this list.
You can sort these results base on Alexa rank (global or US only), domain, platform, and shop type. They can be arranged in ascending or descending order.
However, not all domains and subdomains in the shop results are dropshipping stores.
It’s possible that Dropispy listed down domains that have displayed products and have shown a checkout option at some point.
Therefore, you must utilize the filters properly and do your due diligence when researching any of these websites.
Available filters include:
- Domain – This must be the exact domain name. If you type “store.com”, for example, the result will just be www.store.com. Other domains with “store.com” in their names will not show up.
- Platform – Choose among the list of platforms: Shopify, Woocommerce, Magento, Bigcommerce, Prestashop, Hybris, and Oracle Commerce.
- Shop type – The only option available is Dropshipping, but this simply narrows the list down to eCommerce sites, not exactly dropshippers.
- Alexa Global
- Alexa US
If you have no idea about what your competitor’s domain name is, how then can this feature help you?
I would suggest visiting the Ad Search feature first and then searching for product ads. Visit the details of your chosen ad and check the domain name of the advertiser through the final landing page.
Once you’ve listed it down, go to the Shop Search feature and filter the list based on the domain.
Click on the Shop Details page for more information on the competitor.
Now, this is where the Shop feature becomes useful.
Basic Information Section
On the shop details page, you’ll immediately see basic information about the domain, such as:
- if it’s an online store
- if it’s a dropshipping store
- what platform it uses (Shopify, Bigcommerce, etc.)
- what currency it is on
- what theme the website uses
- what apps are installed
- engagement stats (daily visits, time on page, and bounce rate)
- Alexa Rank (US and global)
You’ll also be shown a graph of its Alexa Ranking history.
Visitors and Webpages
Below the graph, you’ll find the Visitors section, which provides information on where the store’s audiences are from.
Then you’ll find a list of all active pages on the website and a preview of the homepage.
Facebook Ads and Shop Products
Further down and you’ll find the most interesting sections of the shop details page, and these are the Facebook Ads and the Products sections.
The Facebook Ads section lists down all ads scraped for this domain. It displays the ads just as you would see them in the Ad Search dashboard (all goodies included!).
The Product section shows all dropshipping products on the website. You’ll be able to see how the advertiser named the products and their price (both retail and discounted price).
You can add the product to your folder, or you can click on the Shopify icon to view the product page.
Product Details
Clicking on the details link will take you to the Product Details page, where you will find the following:
- additional product media (photos or videos).
- product title and full description.
- additional information such as when the product was first added to the store and when it was last updated.
Overall, the Shop Search feature is a great way to research both shops and specific products. It’s easy to use and offers a lot of information that will make it easier for you to choose what to promote.
My Folders Section
The My Folders section is where you can save the ads and products that you want to keep an eye on.
To add an ad to your folder, simply click on the Add to Folder button on the Ad Search page or on the Ad Details page.
You can also add products to your folder by clicking on the Add to Folder button on the Shop and Product Details pages.
Once you’ve added an ad or product to your folder, you can find it under the My Folders tab.
Here, you’ll be able to see all of the ads and products that you’ve saved. I suggest creating separate folders for ads and products, so you don’t get confused. Creating separate folders for different stores or categories would also be best.
Dropispy Chrome Extension
The Dropispy Chrome Extension is a handy spy tool that allows you to spy on your competitors’ ads while you’re browsing their websites.
To install the extension, simply click on the Download Extension button that appears when you log in to the Dropispy dashboard.
If you missed it, click here to visit the Dropispy extension page in Chrome Webstore.
Once you’ve installed the extension, you’ll be able to see the Dropispy icon next to the address bar.
Clicking on the icon while you’re on your competitor’s website will open up a pop-up window that shows the following:
- General – This is the website’s information such as daily engagement, visitor countries, Alexa rank, etc.
- Ads – This shows all ads that the website is running on Facebook.
- Products – This shows all the available eCommerce products on the website.
Click on the Details link to view more information on the product or ads, or click on the Shopify icon to view the product page and the Facebook icon to view the ad.
Dropispy Plans and Pricing
This company believes that no two businesses are alike, which is why they provide three pricing plans depending on your usage and needs.
- Free Plan – This is best for anyone looking to see how the spy tool works. It helps you evaluate whether this spy tool can help your business or not. While it offers an unlimited number of searches, most of the features (such as ads filtering, recent ads, or the shop spy tool) are restricted.
- Premium Plan – Priced at €29.90 per month, this plan lets you use all of Dropispy‘s features including the advanced filters and the shop spy tool but is limited to 150,000 credits a month.
- Business Plan – Priced at €249.90 per month, this plan also lets you use all of Dropispy’s features with a credit limit of 1.8 million a month.
If you have remaining unused credits this month, they will be carried over to the next month. On the other hand, if you have used up all your credits for the month, you can purchase additional credits in 50 thousand and 100 thousand increments.
Credits are charged based on the following actions:
- List ads = 30 credits
- Ad details and Shopify view = 10 credits
- List domains = 15 credits
The credit system was put in place to avoid abusive usage.
Dropispy Review Pros and Cons
The main purpose of this Dropispy review is to provide insights on whether the ads spy tool can be advantageous to use or not.
Dropispy is a great online tool for spying on your competition and seeing what ads and products they are promoting. But while it offers a lot of features that will help you be successful in your dropshipping online business, it does have some downsides.

- Provides in-depth information on ads, shops, and products.
- Tens of millions of ad results.
- Hundreds of thousands of winning products.
- Easy to use advanced filters for the ad spy tool and shop spy tool.
- Affordable.
Cons
